A new High School for Jefferson

A new High School for Jefferson

In 1963, Jefferson built a new High School on the west side of the city. In June 2007, a Facilities Task Force of more than thirty citizens delivered their report to the School Board.

Their recommendation? A new $43.5 million facility along Taft Avenue, demolishing most of the existing High School, preserving the Council for the Performing Arts auditorium and the music rooms.

If a referendum were approved, the estimated annual tax impact on a $200,000 home is $569 a year.
