Jefferson Banner - Opinion
John Foust - JDC

October 27, 1999

John Foust
235 S. Main Street
Jefferson, WI 53549

Dear John:

This letter will respond to your October 26, 1999 letter on behalf of the JDC. I will respond by paragraph.

Paragraph 1 - No response needed.

Paragraph 2 - All of the JDC minutes and agendas available in electronic format have been copied onto one of your floppy disks. The other floppy disk contains all JDC financial information in electronic format. Your floppy disks are available to be picked up at my office.

As you will see from the floppy disks, there are two copies of each of the JDC minutes and agendas. One is the original copy and the other is a redacted copy which has certain information removed.

It is the opinion of the JDC board that some information in the original minutes and agendas (before redactions) is sensitive and, in some cases, confidential, and should be handled accordingly. The JDC is appealing to your sense as a civic-minded businessperson working for the betterment of the community and hope that you will honor these redactions.

Paragraph 3 - No response needed.

Paragraph 4 - No response needed.

One of the floppy disks also contains the electronic format of a letter sent to the state attorney general's office as explained in my October 25, 1999 letter.

This is all the information which exists in electronic format. The rest of the information you requested will be provided in hard copy as soon as practicable and without delay. For your information, I will be out of the office until the second week of November.

I think this adequately addresses your October 26, 1999 letter concerning the JDC.

Sincerely,

DAVID OLSEN
Executive Director, JDC
