September 8, 1999 John Foust 235 S. Main Street Jefferson, WI 53549 Dear John: This is to provide a written response to your repetitive requests for a copy of the audio tape of the August 3, 1999 CIA meeting. As I told you the first time you asked on August 10, 1999, and each subsequent time you have asked, on August 13th and 17th, the audio tape of the August 3, 1999 of the CIA meeting no longer exists. That tape was used to tape another meeting and is no longer available. You said in your August 20th letter that on August 13th I told you that the audio tape of the August 3, 1999 meeting did not exist. In our taped conversation in my office on August 17th you said, "you don't have that audio tape". I replied "I taped over it." In your August 25, 1999 letter to Jim van Lieshout you said that "Mr. Olsen has not responded to this request in a timely fashion, and has refused to confirm whether this tape has been erased (in violation of State law) or whether it has been found." As verified by an audio tape recorded August 17th, three days prior to your August 20th letter and eight days prior to your letter to Jim, I have told you repeatedly that the tape was erased. I appreciate your calling my attention to WI. Stat. Ann. 19.21(7). I can assure you that all future |
