Mr. John Foust

Jefferson, WI 53549

Dear Mr. Foust:

This letter is in response to your letter of February 18th directed to the Jefferson Development Corporation Board, the Commerce and Industry Association Board, and the Chamber of Commerce Board. This response is solely to those issues that relate to the CIA Board.

In perusing the letter it appears that you have two new valid open records requests:

  • The payment (or non-payment) by the CIA of dues to the Chamber of Commerce;
  • Request for the CIA Executive Director's "terms and conditions of employment".

As far as I have been able to determine the CIA does not pay dues to the Chamber for its membership. Also there are presently no "terms and conditions of employment" established for the Executive Director. In your letter you also make a repeated request for the time records of the Executive Director of the CIA. My understanding is that this request was answered in a previous letter to you.

Other issues raised in your letter, as they relate to the CIA, will be addressed at the Board level. The date, time, and agenda will be publicly posted in accordance with OML.

I trust that I have not misinterpreted or missed any other open records requests contained within your letter. In order to be as responsive as possible it would be helpful if in the future you could separate open records requests from issues as they relate to the performance of, or your interactions with, the Executive Director.

Sincerely,

James B. van Lieshout
President, Commerce and Industry Association Board
