Re: Jefferson County Economic Development Corporation Records, Letter dated July 3rd Dear Phil,

On behalf of the JCEDC Executive Committee I would like to reiterate our desire to continue a positive working relationship with the County and thank you and Bill Hausen for meeting with the Executive Committee today to further understand what the County wishes from the JCEDC. As we discussed this morning, the JCEDC plans to comply with the intent and spirit of the contract between the JCEDC and the County.

In your letter, dated July 3, 2001, there were documents and reports that you requested or mentioned and we would like to respond to accordingly.

Under the following headings:
Organizational Development Activities
1. Assemble and Maintain Database.

SIC code, products or definition of industry
Square ft of facilities and land (as available)

The above information is being supplied to you in hard copy. (see attached)  However, the attached is usually provided in some type of customized report and never provided as an entire data base.

Location utilities and services - Collected from Communities on "as needed" basis

Labor Surveys, wage and benefits see Labor Study 2000. Available for $65.
Active real estate professionals and commercial brokers in SE/Central WI
(Directory from Wisconsin Commercial Association of Realtors organization that provides one copy to members.  It can be made available for review to interested parties at our office.
Annual Building Permits, 10 Year Historical data - (Attached)
3. Calendar Quarterly Report - (Outline as presented to Budget Committee attached)
4. Provide County Board with copy of Strategic Planning Summary Report. (Attached)

Business Retention

1. Visit and Survey Businesses in Jefferson County - Does not exist at this time.
3. Survey Design - Not completed at this time.
7. Assemble and provide statistics for a company considering expansion or new branch.
This is a customized report as requested by the business prospect. Compilation of various county and community information, collected as needed.
8. Track Labor Market Conditions in Jefferson County - Labor Studies 1996 & 2000
2000 Available for $65.
11. Oversee and administer grant for Tourism Website - Information and invoices provided to Wisconsin Department of Tourism. Available from WI Dept of Tourism (However, copy of invoices attached) Visit Website www.ictourism.com for final product.


Business Attraction Activities
2. Provide assistance through the production of customized proposals to businesses interested in establishing a location, branch office or expansion. Proposals are customized.
3. Design and produce countywide marketing materials. (Brochures, maps, workforce statistics,
land and building marketing ads).

5. Provide small businesses with market statistics and demographic information to complete business plan. Requests have been for Small Business Checklist. Have directed to Andy Clark, UW-Whitewater, Small Business Development Center.

6. In cooperation with UWEX, develop educational materials/courses. Reports do not exist at this time.
